Simply Dickens Eastpointe teens Tom Giorlando and Kourtney Weishaupt formed
Simply Dickens in 2001 when they began performing Old World
Christmas music at the Dickens Old Time Christmas Festival in Holly,
Michigan. Within a year and a half, in the spring of 2003, they were
performing turn-of-the-20th-century popular tunes, then branching
out into music of the British Isles by the summer of that year.
Autumn saw them singing Civil War era songs. In the last two years
the two have added a third (and sometimes a fourth) vocalist, which
gave them the opportunity to sing in the four part madrigal style
renaissance period music. At the Erin-Halfway Days festival Simply
Dickens will be peforming music of the 19th century.

Period “Outer-Wear” Clothing Fashion Show
Erin-Halfway
Days is a living history festival. Not only do we
celebrate the history of our great area, we also celebrate the
people who lived it. And in doing so, we can learn
a great deal about the time period from their manner of
dress. Join us at Erin-Halfway Days this year as we present
a Period Clothing Fashion Show starring you! We
invite everyone who attends to time-travel along with us,
and wear period clothing. Authentic or
reproduction, no matter how early or late, from the Colonial days
through the Roaring ‘20’s, we would love to see it - and if you
do, we'll might include you in our show! Lynn Anderson,
President of the Greater Clinton Township Historical Society, will
talk about the history and fashions of this area, from the
earliest days of Native Americans and French Voyagers up through
the 20th Century, using our costumed guests as participants.
So plan your time-travel clothing now - and we'll see you on July
14th! |
